Now, Gourmet Has A Home
A store with all the things you may be looking for. That is how you feel when you walk through the doors of our Island Gourmet Markets at the Queen Market Place at Waikoloa on the Big Island. Food and wine lovers will capture the feeling that they can really spoil themselves as they walk the isles and gawk at the gorgeous displays. Stand in disbelief as each section of this fabulous store reveals something luxurious and unique.
Start with the fresh meat section. Most markets will have the pre-packed meats. Here you order it from a butcher counter that features among many things gourmet quality 21 day dry aged beef. The rib eye looks fabulous with a beautiful marbling and cut thick. Glance over to the sign of Natural Grass Fed beef raised without any growth hormones, antibiotics and raised in Hawaii. Hearing the sizzle of the meat on the grill triggers your mouth to water. USDA Prime Beef in many several cuts are just calling your name. Oh the possibilities are endless.
One quick look to the right and you will take in the fresh seafood selection with live oysters, clams and even Big Island grown abalone. Tuna caught in the waters surrounding the Big Island are prominently featured as are other locally raised and caught fish. The Poke selection is hand made fresh every single day. The Ahi Limu Poke is one of many favorites done not too sweet or not too salty, just right!
Your attention is pulled away as you continue to the wine and liquor stands that are filled with some of the most prominent wines and liquors in the world. If you need to stock your bar with top shelf products, this is the place to go. There is something for everyone here from value priced wines like Yellow Tail and Layer Cake to the most collectible of jewels such as Roederer Cristal Champagne and Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon. Friendly display cards have up to date vintage information with scores and descriptions to make it easy for anyone to choose the right bottle of wine. And was there a mention of the wine bar? Yes, there is a wine bar just adjacent to the wine section so you can actually taste the wine before you purchase it. Now talk about the perfect pair. The wine bar is also the perfect place to cruise and enjoy a glass of wine and unwind while waiting for the rest of the family to finish their shopping.
Still within the store and just a few steps away has got to be one of Hawaii’s most well stocked and deliciously welcoming delis. The menu board lists a plethora of the finest ingredients you can find, both local and imported. Goat Cheese from the Big Island and Havarti with Dill from Denmark side by side. The Mr. Reuben sandwich is a blend of Kobe beef, pastrami, corned beef and sauerkraut with 1000Isle dressing, Swiss cheese on toasted artesian focaccia bread instead of rye and is terrific. Perhaps deli is not even the correct word because it is more than just sandwiches to order. There are freshly baked pizzas and rotisserie chicken hot out of the oven fresh salads and so much more.
The store itself is so welcoming, inviting even with an airy, clean and beautiful appearance. It reminds me of an open market just all under one roof. And there is so much more-a sushi counter replete with sushi chef, bentos and a hot food bar with soups, bakery – with freshly baked treats daily. Include a huge selection of local apparel, beach needs, drugs and cosmetics, gifts and souvenirs – favorite treasures, flavors and fragrances of the islands. This market has everything you need and at a gourmet level quality unsurpassed by anyone in Hawaii- a store you wouldn’t mind living in.
